It started because I couldn’t afford a photographer.

As a mom, I wanted beautiful photographs of my own children, but professional photography simply wasn’t something I could afford. So I picked up a camera and taught myself.

Later, while working in a church office, I began meeting other parents just like me...

families who wanted those memories captured but couldn’t always afford traditional photography prices.

​

That’s when photography became more than something I loved.

​

I felt God telling me to start a photography business based on donations.

​

No set session fee. No deciding that a family’s memories were worth less because they had less.

What began as a way to capture my own family became a way to serve other families and eventually grew into Jody Lynn Photography.

The business has changed over the years. The reason behind the camera hasn’t.
